God has created man in His image. That means man has the capacity to love and to choose, a gift from his Creator.

"Then God said. 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;" (Genesis 1:26)

Love and freedom of choice are inter-related. Love is not real love, if you cannot choose. Accordingly, you can choose to love God, or to love worldly things.

"And He said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'" (Matthew 22:37)

"Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him." (1 John 2:15)

The choice is all yours. Life is full of choices, including your choice to be healthy or not. Indeed, love of health is a choice.

In general, people express different attitudes towards their health:
ˇ The attitude of despair - Those, who have been plagued by ill health, need living in faith to rejuvenate their love of health.

Despair is a sin against God. According to C.S. Lewis, "despair is greater than any of the sins that provoke it."
ˇ The attitude of confusion - Those, who do not know how to pursue good health, need living in faith to illuminate their love of health.

God will shed light and show you the way all for the asking.

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)
ˇ The attitude of complacency -  Those, who have been enjoying relatively good health, need living in faith to re-discover their love of health.

It is not enough to avoid doing wrong: God wants you to be proactive about doing what is right for your health.
Health is man's greatest asset. Therefore, you should express your love of health. If you love of health is like your search for God, you will have your reward. It all begins with love - the love of God, the love of life, which is a gift from Him, and hence the love of health.

"He who pursues righteousness and loyalty finds life, righteousness, and honor." (Proverbs 21:21)

Love of health is more than a desire for physical health, which is contingent on spiritual health and wellness.

"Diseases of the soul are more dangerous and more numerous than those of the body." (Cicero)

Life is a sacred journey involving change, growth, and self-discovery. Knowledge is empowering. Therefore, for your love of heath, you should seek knowledge continually to expand your vision and stretch your soul in order to stay both spiritually and physically healthy. Your spirituality provides meaning and direction for that journey.

With knowledge, you become enlightened. You will realize that natural health holds the key to your well-being.

The Bible says that God's
"people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6) Do not destroy your love of health for lack of knowledge.

For someone who is very ill, it may seem difficult, almost impossible, to restore natural health and get well again. Worse, ill health may make you forget to take care of your body, and thus allowing your body's functions to deteriorate further. But if you are living in faith, all things are possible.

To regain natural health, you need a vision of good health and wholeness. You must attune yourself to Nature's natural laws of balance, expressed by your body's inner healing intelligence, which allows your body to repair and heal itself.

Ill health is no more than the accumulation of all the wrong things you have done to your body over the years. For the love of health, stop poisoning your body with processed foods and pharmaceutical drugs! For the love of health, eat healthy and stop cravings! Use food cures.

"Let food be your medicine, and your medicine be your food." (Hippocrates - the father of medicine)

You have to make your food choices each and every day of your life - food choices that are life-enhancing or death-inducing. The choice is yours. Living in faith, you will find it is much easier to make healthy choices in your lifestyle, such as giving up addiction to alcohol and nicotine. You have to make a decision to involve God in your everyday life to provide you with strength and wisdom to overcome your daily challenge in matters of food choices.

"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

"that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His spirit in the inner man," (Ephesians 3:16)

To sustain repair and recovery, it is important to detoxify your body regularly through fasting, natural herbs, such as dandelion, licorice, and milk thistle, and vegetables, such as beets and broccoli.

"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry." (Matthew 4:1-2)

"Then God said, 'Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;" (Genesis 1:29)

Jesus demonstrates that fasting can purify the mind and the body. In addition, He shows that without living in faith, it is easy to relapse into bad eating habits and unhealthy lifestyle.

Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Are you treating your body with respect so it will last a long time?

"Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and this is what you are." (I Corinthians 3:16-17)

Living in faith is the tallest order in life. Have faith: Jesus came into this world that you may
"have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10) as well as "prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers." (3 John: 2)

God does not want you to be in bondage to fad diets, overeating, or harmful substances. Instead, He wants you to be free and to exercise self-control in all areas of your life, including your food choices,  through living in faith.

If you do not take care of your body, and yet you expect God to fix your physical ailments right away - this is not living in faith!

Living in faith is to believe that God will do His best to take care of your body, if you will also do your best to take care of His creation by eating right.

The bottom line is the axiom: You reap what you sow, and you become what you eat.

"But you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and water; and I will remove sickness from your midst." (Exodus 23:25)
